Arabic al-ʻarabiyyah or ʻarabī or is a Central Semitic language that first developed in Iron Age northwestern Arabia and it is the fifth-most-spoken language in the world by number of native speakers. Arabic is a Semitic language and therefore shares similarities with other Semitic languages, such as Aramaic and Hebrew. In terms of writing, several languages use the Arabic alphabet, such as Persian/Farsi, Urdu, Pashto and Kurdish. It is very common language spoken in the Gulf Countries, Egypt, Libya, Jordan, Morocco, etc. Having worked as an interpreter for different companies and got opportunities of interaction with Arab people face to face and over the phone as well, we have observed and even sought their respective ideas at different times and locations about accents and Modern Standard Arabic (MSA). Every one advised to teach the latter i.e. (MSA), which is used in books, news papers, radio, television programs, political speeches etc. And it's not only understood by a particular region, city or country but also understood in whole Arab world.
Course Structure
I. Basic Level: A-1 Duration: Two Months This course is designed for students who do not have any knowledge of the Arabic Language. during this phase, we put focus on the fundamentals of language abilities i.e. Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, and Understanding. The course delivers a good understanding of phonology ((النطق, morphology (علم الصرف), and syntax (إعراب). Introduction to Alphabets and basic Arabic grammar, Knowledge of basic daily conversation, Daily vocabulary, Introducing ‘yourself’, Greetings and Salutations etc. This course also covers some topics of daily conversation that a student needs to start with. Let’s walk you through some examples given below: Examples: Alphabets: أ، ب، ت، ث أَنَا إِسْمِي سَلْمَان (ana ismi Salman)= My name is Salman هَذَا وَلَدٌ (hada walad) = This is a boy Level: A-2 Duration: Two Months This course is prepared for learners who have completed the Introductory Arabic A1 or one is known to the basics of the Arabic language or as approved by the instructor after a language test. The course focuses on building a better understanding of morphological small sentences and the application of grammar along with an emphasis on vocabulary building, understanding a wide variety of Arabic texts and readings and engaging students in basic dialogue sessions under the supervision of instructors. (ana talib al sanah al uola fil jamiah) أنا طالب السنة الأولي في الجامعة. II. Intermediate Level: B-1 Duration: 2 Months This course is designed for the students who have completed A1 & A2 or have the same proficiency of basic Arabic language skills or as approved by the instructor after a language skill test. At this level, we focus on reinforcing the four language skills; listening, speaking, reading, and writing through the complex grammatical and morphological systems of the Arabic language. The course also provides a deeper insight into comprehension of Arabic texts from different topic-based articles and videos. The course is instructed mainly in Arabic in order to make students habitual of listening to the Arabic language and make the learning process interesting for them. To check on this level, let’s walk you through some examples given below: Examples: To learn a foreign language is not an easy task but interesting. تعلم اللغة الاجنبية ليس أمرا سهلا ولكنه رائع. I get up early in the morning every day. أنا استيقظ مبكرا كل يوم في الصباح. Level: B-2 Duration: 2 Months This level is perpetual to Arabic (B1) and is designed for students who have completed our three levels ( e.g. A1, A2, B1) or have the same proficiency that can fulfill the course requirement or as approved by the instructor after a language skill test. A special focus is put on making the student more confident to read, write and understand the complex Arabic text without vowel signs and more confident to communicate in Arabic. Basics of translation from Arabic to English and Voice versa are also be introduced in developing students to the next Advanced levels like Newspaper reading, presenting topics, and interpreting dialogues. In addition to that, the language learning requires a constant practice to acquire mastery. وبالإضافة إلى ذالك، تحتاج اللغة ممارسة مستمرة للإتقان. III. Level: Advance Level: C-1 Duration: 3 Months Level: C-2 Duration: 3 Months
